Drug & Alcohol Testing

Collection, chain of custody and program support

Overview

Drug & Alcohol Testing for federal and state claims

A test result is only useful if the collection holds up. We run documented collections with an unbroken chain of custody and return results through a single point of contact.

Testing programs fail on procedure far more often than on chemistry. A specimen collected without a complete custody-and-control form, or a post-accident test taken outside the window your own policy specifies, creates a result that cannot be relied on when it matters.

We collect against your written policy. For DOT-regulated employees the federal procedure governs and is followed as written; for non-DOT testing we follow your policy and applicable Missouri or Kansas law — and if the policy does not authorize the collection you have asked for, we say so before the employee is in the room.

Results are returned to one named contact so chain of custody and confidentiality both stay intact from collection to report.

How it works

From referral to closure

  1. 1. Program review

We read the written policy first: who is tested, for what reasons, on which panel, and inside what time window. Collections are run to that document.

  2. 2. Authorized send-in

The employee arrives with the collection reason identified. Post-accident and reasonable-suspicion collections are logged with the supervisor documentation supporting them.

  3. 3. Collection under chain of custody

Identity verification, specimen collection, seal and custody-and-control form completion — with split specimen where the panel calls for it.

  4. 4. Laboratory confirmation

Non-negative screens go to confirmation testing rather than being reported as positive off a screen.

  5. 5. Reporting to one contact

Results go to the named designated employer representative with the custody documentation available for the file.

  6. 6. Return-to-duty follow-up

Where your policy provides a return-to-duty path, follow-up testing is scheduled on the interval the policy sets.

Documentation you receive

Federal and state rules

DOT-regulated collections follow federal procedure. Non-DOT collections follow your written policy and applicable Missouri or Kansas law; we will not perform a collection that the policy does not authorize.
